Statement of Purpose:
Bunnies on the Bayou, Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the raising and distributing of funds for various charitable, educational and cultural programs that seek to improve the quality of life for individuals in the LGBT community that promotes education and awareness of individual human right within greater Houston area.

Our History:
On a Sunny Easter Sunday in 1979 a small group of friends gathered for a Birthday Celebration at a small apartment complex on Clay Street.  The word spread of the event, and the following year in 1980 they set up a sound system and sent out invitations. This was the beginning of Bunnies on the Bayou.  
In the mid-80’s AIDS was taking a terrible toll on the community and the Host decided to help their friends by charging an "admission"-a bag of food for local charities was required to enter the event.  
During the 90’s, the event grew again, and the location changed to the Wortham Center. Instead of food, Bunnies began to raise money for local charities. 

Since that time, the even has grown to be Houston's largest annual outdoor cocktail party.  Thousands of Houstonians have celebrated Easter with their Friends both new and old to raise over $750,000 for local Charities.
